This is a multi-step series, with each step described in detail below. Each
step consists of 8 hours of instruction.

The fee for each 8–hour step is $150.00.

Step 1 will
be offered as two 4–hour classes on Saturday, February
6th and February 20th, from 1:00pm – 5:00pm.
Next Step Garments – Step 1
The garment series begins with a cute, simple cover-up pattern featuring
pockets, facings, buttonholes, and optional sleeves. Your ’Next
Step Garment’ sewing begins with choosing textiles, fabric preparation
and notions as well as pattern reading, sizing and basic fitting.
As time permits, embellishment techniques will be discussed as well as pocket
options.
This 8 – hour course offers opportunties for creativity while preparing
you for the next course in the series.

Next Step Garments – Step 2
In this step, you will create a basic camp shirt with facings, button
holes, and sleeves which allows for lots of opportunity for creativity. Textile
choice, preparation as well as embellishment fun on a versatile shirt. Fitting
techniques including bust and shoulders, sizing and suitability will be
discussed. Hem and seam finishing techniques as well as facing
and interfacing.
This 8 – hour course offers an introduction into garment fitting, pattern
fitting and construction techniques.

Prerequisites – Knowledge of your machine and basic sewing techniques or
our Step Into Sewing series, Step 1, Step 2, and Step 3 and Next Step Garments, Step 1.
