A techniques class

Join Anna for a hands-on workshop where she will take the fear and anxiety out of working with leather. She will guide you every step of the way as you create beautiful, assorted leather samplers of the most critical handbag techniques as seen in her book. The class will start with a discussion on the various leather skins that are appropriate for bags and hands-on sample creations with seaming leather of different weights, thread, needles and troubleshoot feeding the leather. Your samples will include leather piping, binding, topstitching and making straps, re-engineer zippers and installing hardware. Students will have use of all the specialty tools, glues, leather paints and edge finishes used in the book.

The class kit not only enables consistency in a hands-on class, but also eliminates purchasing the incorrect materials or worse yet, the overbuying. It will also spare you from spending hours gathering the essential supply list.

Class includes use of The Sewing Tree sewing machines and equipment. If you chose to bring your own machine, please bring your machine manual, foot pedal and power cord as well as your accessory feet.

Fee

The fee for this 7-hour class is $150 (includes morning coffee/tea and lunch)
Kit fee: $75 (includes leather and materials to create your samples and notebook)
